Famiglia originaria di Slano, Dubrovnik, erano dei primi esiliati di Herzegovina, che presero rifugio nella repubblica di Ragusa.
Il cognome e nome di questi soggetti cambia, spessissimo, inoltre gli si agginge il “ vich “ che significa figlio di Ohmuce, tipico della lingua Russa e si vede Slava.

Il conte Pietro di Tuhelj ultimo in linea maschile sposa la figlia Aurelia con Andrea Ohmucevic-Grguric dal ramo cadetto della famiglia.

With the death of Count Peter in 1599 the male
line of the Counts of Tuhelj became extinct, but some
years previously he had arranged a match between his
daughter Aurelia and Andrea Ohmucevic-Grguric, of
the cadet branch of the family, also a captain in the
Spanish service. The marriage did not take place until
1617. Andrea's brothers were all sea-dogs in the Spanish
service. One of them, Don Pedro, led a successful expedition
to Brazil, and was afterwards appointed Spanish
consul at Ragusa (1623-1631). Don Pablo, after knocking
about in various parts of the world, ended his life in
retirement at the family place at Slano. Don Andrea
himself served Spain for fifty-seven years, commanding
various fleets, and was created Spanish Admiral of the
Neapolitan fleet, which position he held during the
Masaniello rebellion. In 1614 the Tuhelj estates in
the Herzegovina, which after the Turkish conquest had
been confiscated and then restored to the family on
payment of a tribute, were once more confiscated on
account of the part which its members had played in
the Spanish wars against the Turks. Don Andrea tried
in vain to obtain redress from the Pasha of the Herzegovina,
and then appealed to the King of Hungary,
who in two rescripts of 1650 and 1654 recognised Don
Andrea's rights and those of his heirs, but there was no
hope of enforcing them until the country should again
be under the rule of a Christian Power; 224 more
years were to elapse before this consummation came
to pass !

Pietro Gargurich-Ohoiucevich di cui (1482) si
hanno dipinti in Sutijesko; di Elena di Iveglia Garguricb -Ohmucevich
vissuta in Spagna; di Vincenzo di Lorenzo che nel 1510 rivestì di affreschi
la chiesa ed il convento dei Basiliani di Trebinje, d'ordine ed a
spese del vescovo greco.

Girolamo Iveglia
Matematico e giurista, nato a Noto (Siracusa) nel 1551 e morto a Palermo 1609.

Esercitò l'avvocatura a Palermo fu per due volte giudice della Regia Gran Corte e avvocato fiscale del reale patrimonio.

La sua vita è stata scritta dal sacerdote Pietro Tognoleto e pubblicata a Palermo nel 1679. Ha lasciato alcune opere di astrologia e alcune allegazioni: “Allegationes in causa tonnariae ad mare de Gulfo pro Domina Ducissa Bisbonae et Montisalti”; “Allegationes pro magnificis Secretarii” ed “Allegationes in causa Gagliani”.

Trovo un Pasko Pugliesi nato a Zaton un sei miglia da Zara che si sposa con la figlia di un Antun Ivelja Ohmucevic, Pasko eredita tutto, da qui incomincia il ramo dei Pugliesi Ohmucevic, L’Umberto Pugliese al di sopra potrebbe essere della stessa famiglia dato che lo trovo nella stessa linea di magnati e disegnatori navali....?

Francesco Maria Maggio palermitano,
nato nel 1612 da Bartolo Maggio giureconsulto di molta fama, e
da Vincenza Iveglia, figlia dell'illustre e virtuoso Girolamo (1), dopo
cinque anni era entralo Tra' Chierici Regolari, partiva nel 1636
per le missioni dell'Asia, riducendosi sino al Caucaso, e propagando
ardentemente in quelle regioni la fede cristiana , non senza attendere
allo studio di quelle lingue, sulle quali pubblicò l'opera importantissima :
