I expect, yes. The individual requesting information knows that Dante
Carnesecchi was a revolutionary unionist (sindacalista rivoluzionario),
and he probably used the linked history as a partial source for
formulating the question that has been passed on to us. That link
includes the following (excerpted, translated via Google):
Summary of the life of Dante Carnesecchi
His father Biagio Joseph died in 1901 and left some houses and some
land to his heir. On May 17, 1913, at age twenty, he left for America
with his friend John Lombardi, with thirty dollars in his pocket. They
arrived in New York aboard the ship Rochambeau on May 26. He was soon to
be found in Pueblo, Colorado, and was very probably present and active
in the revolt by Italian and Hispanic miners against Rockefeller. The
rebellion engulfed the area between September 1913 and April 1914, and
culminated in the infamous Ludlow Massacre.
The original request for information mentioned Pueblo, Colorado, and
also that Cesare Vegnuti (a companion?) died at Dawson (Dawson Tragedy)
in October 1913. The Dawson Tragedy occurred in New Mexico, across the
border from Ludlow. I note that the mention of Dante Carnesecchi's
"probable" participation in the Ludlow Strike appears to be entirely
speculative.
My friend Scott Martelle (who authored the Ludlow history Blood
Passion) believes that any possible answer about Dante Carnesecchi's
life in the Uwill probably come from .S. New Mexico, rather than
Colorado. This sounds plausible to me as well. While we currently have
no firm date for the Pueblo appearance, the Dawson Tragedy occurred
shortly after the Ludlow strike began, possibly placing Dante
Carnesecchi away from Ludlow.
The original request for information comes from Pierluigi Carnesecchi,
who shares the surname with Dante Carnesecchi, and therefore may be a
relative. I do not know if Pierluigi Carnesecchi speaks English, but i'm
guessing that he does not. I do not speak Italian, and would welcome any
corrections to my interpretation of this material. If anyone on the list
is able to communicate with Pierluigi Carnesecchi in Italian, that might
facilitate our effort to assist.
Once again, here is the original request for information:
