Vorrei sapere se questa medaglia viene conferita anche militari e civili in Italia e in base a quali requisiti: Army Achievement Medal

The Army Achievement Medal is awarded to any member of the armed forces of the United States, or to any member of the armed forces of a friendly foreign nation, who while serving in any capacity with the Army in a non-combat area on or after 1 August 1981, distinguished himself by meritorious service or achievement of a lesser degree than required for award of the Army Commendation Medal. The Army Achievement Medal will not be awarded to general officers.
Per i militari italiani dunque, in quanto appartenenti a una nazione estera amica, è necessario aver svolto servizio meritorio assieme all'esercito USA non in zona di combattimento e con un grado inferiore a quello di generale.

Nel confermare quanto riferito dall'ottimo Guido 5, aggiungo che questa distinzione statunitense è SI autorizzabile/trascrivibile per i militari italiani, come si evince nell'allegato della nota circolare dello SMD.

Inserendo il nome su google, è altresì possibile vedere la medaglia, il nastro e copia del diploma.

Purtroppo il diploma, in bianco e pronto per...l'utilizzo, è ampiamente visibile sul noto sito d'aste.... sigh!

in merito all'araldica militare americana segnalo il sito istituzionale del competente Istituto di Araldica del Pentagono (Institute of Heraldry: http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/)
In merito alla ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL, nel predetto sito istituzionale (http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Award ... EDAL1.html) è scritto che:
"The Army Achievement Medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States, or to any member of the Armed Forces of a friendly foreign nation, who while serving in any capacity with the Army in a non-combat area on or after 1 August 1981, distinguished himself/ herself by meritorious service or achievement of a lesser degree than required for award of the Army Commendation Medal. The Army Achievement Medal will not be awarded to General Officers".
In sintesi, nella sua genericità, si afferma che:
- sono premiabili i membri delle Forze Armate US e delle nazioni amiche (con un grado inferiore a Generale);
- gli stessi non devono essere in servizio in aree di combattimento e devono essersi distinti per servizi, SUCCESSI o RISULTATI (ARCHIEVMENT) meritori di grado inferiore a quello richiesto per la Army Commendation Medal.

Per farLe comprendere i motivi della concessione riporto quattro esempi di motivazioni (come si vende nell’ultimo esempio è possibile avere la distinzione anche per servizi eccezionali in ambito logistico – ricordo che la branca S4 è, a livello Reggimento, la branca logistica):

1. For exceptionally outstanding achievement in having attained a perfect score of 100 percent on the skill qualification test. staff sergeant smith's outstanding performance significantly contributes to combat readiness and reflects great credit upon himself and the united states army.

2. For outstanding achievement as a tank turret mechanic during the Battalion's Level I tank gunnery. Your exemplary dedication to duty and technical expertise contributed significantly to D Company's maintenance success. This outstanding performance reflects great credit upon you, the Thunderbolts, and the United States Army.

3. For outstanding achievement as Orderly Room NCO, 411th ASB, while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. SGT Lucky tracked and processed over 150 unscheduled leaves and passes while maintaining a 99% manning rate. Under shifting command and conditions, she organized and prepared the unit for redeployment and reintegration into central region upon completion of their 15 month deployment with zero loss of accountabilty. The accomplishments of SGT Lucky bring great credit upon herself, the 411th ASB, and the United States Army

4. For exceptionally meritorious achievements while serving as the Battalion S-4 Officer, Headquarters 69th Ordnance Battalion during the period of 6 March 1998 to 15 June 1999. His outstanding initiative, leadership, and logistics abilities produced greatly improved supply, maintenance, and financial programs in the Battalion and led to a twenty percent increase in equipment serviceability rates for the Battalion. His skillful administration of supply and logistics resulted in the Battalion's successful completion of its Army Training and Evaluation Programs and two major field exercises. Captain Korsey's outstanding achievements and devotion to duty reflect favorably upon himself, the 69th Ordnance Battalion, and the 1st Armored Division.
